Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is the epitome of festive cheer, offering an unforgettable experience for families looking to dive into the magic of the Christmas season.

From its whimsical attractions to heart-racing activities, we had a fabulous fun-filled day enjoying all the frosty festivities!

Our first stop was the Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Magical Ice Kingdom, and it didn’t disappoint.

The attraction is meticulously crafted from over 500 tonnes of snow and ice – weighing twice as much as the Statue of Liberty!

Walking through the Queen of Hearts’ castle, we were spellbound by larger-than-life ice and snow sculptures — intricate, glistening, and utterly captivating.

The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party had our little one squealing with excitement, while the iconic Cheshire Cat seemed to smile just for us.

The Magical Ice Kingdom is one of the largest ice exhibitions in Europe, with carved sculptures reaching over five metres high.

The -10°C environment added an authentic touch of winter chill, though the sheer wonder of the exhibits kept us warm with delight.

Pro tip: pack extra layers for little ones to ensure they enjoy every frosty detail!

Next up, we swapped shoes for skates at the UK’s largest open-air Ice Rink with 1,795 square metres of skating space. Set beneath a canopy of twinkling lights, with live acoustic melodies filling the air, this was undoubtedly a highlight for all the family. Younger skaters can build their confidence with penguin skating aids, while more daring grown-ups can test their skills around the beautiful Victorian bandstand. The rink was bustling with families and couples, all sharing in the joy of gliding through this festive wonderland.

For an adrenaline kick, we headed to the Real Ice Slide, a family favourite. Standing at an impressive seven metres, the slide gave us an exhilarating 35-metre descent. With helmets secured and rubber rings in hand, we raced each other down the icy slope, giggling all the way. Our little one couldn’t resist a rematch, and honestly, neither could we! After the thrills, we rewarded ourselves with creamy hot chocolates — a perfect end to this frosty escapade.

Even more thrills awaited us at Zippos Christmas Circus: Candyland. Located at the heart of Winter Wonderland, the show was a magical escape that left our whole family grinning from ear to ear. From the moment we stepped into the big top, the vibrant candy-themed set transported us to a world of sugary wonder.

Little ones will mesmerised by the gravity-defying aerial acts, gasping as performers twisted and twirled high above the crowd.

The juggling act, balanced on a grand piano, had everyone cheering,

The acrobats’ jaw-dropping stunts drew excited gasps from the audience.

The show struck the perfect balance—45 minutes of pure entertainment, just long enough to hold the attention of our youngest without feeling rushed. The performers’ dazzling costumes and infectious energy added to the magic, and there were plenty of giggles at the light-hearted moments that kept things fun for all ages.

Afterwards, we couldn’t stop chatting about our favourite acts as we strolled through Winter Wonderland. If you’re visiting with children, this show is an absolute must-see—it’s festive, thrilling, and leaves you feeling like you’ve unwrapped a little piece of Christmas joy.

To wind down, we stepped into Bar Ice, an enchanting alpine-themed retreat in association with Mixtons Cocktails. Swaddled in Regatta ski jackets and gloves provided at the entrance, we sipped on festive alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails amidst the ice-sculpted decor.

The walls, tables, and even our glasses were made of ice, creating a magical, immersive experience. Kids will marvel at the frozen animal sculptures, while grown-ups enjoy the chic après-ski vibes and rocking DJ beats.
